Let me start the year telling you how different Christmas days are here in Israel, especially when you are a footballer. Due to schedule reasons this year we had to play on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve at 18.00.
Iniciamos el año con un post en el que me gustaría contaros lo distintas que son las Navidades aquí en Israel, en especial cuando juegas el fútbol. Por motivos de calendario, este año nos tocó jugar la víspera de Nochebuena y el mismo día 31 a las seis de la tarde. También lo haremos el 5 de enero, así que cuando llegue a casa los Reyes Magos estarán a punto de iniciar su reparto de regalos.

I’ve been many weeks without writing in the blog, you all know I only write when I find something special to share. On this occasion I’d like to tell you about something quite peculiar here in Israel.

He estado varias semanas sin escribir el blog, ya sabéis que intento hacerlo cuando encuentro algo que me parezca realmente interesante para compartir. En esta ocasión quiero contaros algo bastante curioso que ocurre en el fútbol israelí estos días.

Today I’d like to speak about the Israel-Spain of this Monday. Although the match doesn’t serve as qualifying, the truth is that there is great expectation and everybody is talking about what will happen on Monday. People follow Spanish football and want to see Lopetegui’s men, to whom I’d like to congratulate for a good qualification for the World Cup. They’ve played very well and have been the best team of the group.

Hoy quiero hablaros del Israel-España de este lunes. Aunque el partido ya no tenga valor clasificatorio, la verdad es que por aquí hay mucha expectación y se habla mucho de lo que va a pasar este lunes por la noche. La gente sigue muy de cerca el fútbol español y tiene ganas de ver en directo a los de Lopetegui, a quienes quiero felicitar por una muy merecida clasificación para el Mundial. Han jugado muy bien y han sido los mejores del grupo.

10 teams and a thrilling career
A new season and a new challenge begins: I’ve signed for Kiryat Shmona, the 10th club in my career which is easy to say.
As I look back I remember how I was when I played for Calahorra or Numancia, many years ago. And the truth is that I still feel that eagerness in the stomach every time I have a match. I still have that passion, although I’ve also gained more calmness.
Este año comienzo una nueva temporada y un nuevo reto: he fichado por el Kiryat Shmona, el décimo club de mi carrera, que se dice pronto.
Echando la vista atrás, me acuerdo de cómo era yo mismo cuando jugaba en el Calahorra o el Numancia, hace ya muchos años. Y la verdad es que siento ese mismo gusanillo que te dan los nervios antes de cada partido. Conservo la ilusión, aunque también he ganado tranquilidad.
