A Premier atmosphere for Spain in Jerusalem

Carlos Cuéllar . 8-octubre-2017

Hi.

Today I’d like to speak about the Israel-Spain of this Monday. Although the match doesn’t serve as qualifying, the truth is that there is great expectation and everybody is talking about what will happen on Monday. People follow Spanish football and want to see Lopetegui’s men, to whom I’d like to congratulate for a good qualification for the World Cup. They’ve played very well and have been the best team of the group.

Two weeks ago I played with my team, Kiryat Shmona at the Teddy Stadium of Israel, the same stadium as the Israel-Spain and I can tell you that it’s one of the best in the country, if not the best itself. The pitch is well formed and the fans are one of the cosiest in the country. La Roja will find a Premier atmosphere, with the crowd pressuring a lot. Israel hasn’t done very well in their group and they are hoping to beat Spain to give thier fans some joy.

I will go to the match as well, although I’ll have to drive two hours to get there from the north of the country, because I’m longing to say hello to ex-teammates like Azpilicueta and Monreal, apart from other players I know quite well. I’d like to tell you about the most promising players in Israel.

Tal Ben Chaim is a veteran who has signed for Sparta Praga. He is a winger, vertical and with great quality to pressure the defenders. He usually starts on the left wing and has a great shot from outside the box.

There is no need to present Tomer Hemed, who played at Mallorca. He is a striker with plenty of goal as he proves again at Brighton. He doesn’t need to touch the ball very much. Benayoun has come back again to Israel, with whom I’ve been chatting a bit. A great guy. Less known are my teammates from Petah Tikva, also good footballers. Beyond giving names, I’d like to say that Israel players have quality. With a greater and strong mentality I think they could get far when it comes to national teams.

A big hug and I hope to see a great match. I’ll share pictures.
