Hapoel Ironi lost with one player down

Kiryat Shmona lost at home to Hapoel Raanana (0-2) in a match marked by what happened in the first half. Before the break, in a few minutes, an own goal from Diniz and a red card to Nigel Hasselbaink left a very complicated scenario. In the second half, Suissa (minute 77) scored the second goal for the visiting team. Shortly before, Kiryat Shmona had a great chance to equalise.

Carlos Cuéllar, a regular in Hapoel Ironi´s defense, played the complete game. The Madrid born centre-back, one of the players responsible for the great defensive performance of the team, could not prevent a result that leaves Kiryat Shmona four points behind Bnei Yehuda, sixth in the Israeli Premier. The sixth place is the last one that gives access to the final play-off.

The next league game for Cuéllar and his teammates will be on Saturday against Maccabi Tel Aviv, recent winner of the Toto Cup (they won Hapoel Be'er Sheva a few days ago in the final).
