A 93rd-minute goal denied Maccabi Petah Tikva a win against Bnei Sakhnin (1-1). Carlos Cuéllar’s side went in front in the 70th minute, thanks to a strike by Guy Melamed. The goal that was conceded in time added on prevented Maccabi from securing their fourth successive win. Despite this, the Petah Tikva-based side still picked up a point and continued with their objective of keeping themselves near the top of the table.
Carlos, who is still recovering from injury, watched the match from the stands at the HaMoshava Stadium. The Madrid-born centre-back is already back training with his team-mates and his return to first-team action is close.
Maccabi Petah Tikva’s next match will take place on Saturday against Maccabi Haifa, the side that they eliminated from the State Cup last weekend.
