Carlos Cuéllar, leyenda del Rangers

Carlos Cuéllar will play on March 26 as a Rangers FC legend. That day the legendary club from Glasgow will be 150 years old. On the occasion of this important anniversary, the Ibrox Stadium will host the 'Weekend of Legends', a match that will measure a world team against a group made up of Rangers' historical references. Among them will be Carlos.

The website of the Scottish entity is reporting the event. Legends such as Giovanni van Bronkhorst (current club manager), Paul Gascoigne, Kris Boyd, Ronald de Boer and Alan Hutton will play alongside the player from Madrid. The captain will be Barry Ferguson and Alex McLeish will be the coach of this historic team.

One season (2007/08) was enough for Carlos Cuéllar to leave an indelible mark on Rangers FC. He won two titles (Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup) and was runner-up in the UEFA Cup. All this in a course in which he excelled at an individual level. With 63 games in his account (record for a club footballer in a campaign), in which he scored 5 goals, he was chosen as the best player of the year by the 'Scottish Football Writers' Association', by the Scottish Premiership and by the Rangers' own fans.

A team of stars as a rival

The world team, commanded by Luís Figo, will present a luxury poster. Claude Makélélé, Predrag Mijatović, Roy Makaay, Roberto Carlos, Gheorghe Hagi and Robert Pirès are some of the stars who will play at Ibrox on March 26.
