Fútbol, jugar partidos y más fútbol // Loving Football

Os escribo tras una semana difícil, especialmente por la desilusión que supone caer en la Copa, la histórica FA  Cup, que es una competición espectacular. Fue una pena caer con el Arsenal, perder después de haber tenido un 0-2 en el Emirates. El equipo en un campo complicado se encontró fuerte y funcionó bien al contragolpe. Volvimos muy jodidos de Londres y lo único positivo es que pude ver un rato al gran Robert Pires, que el año pasado estuvo jugando con nosotros.

Ahora tenemos que ponermos las pilas en casa, ya que no funcionamos igual de bien que a domicilio últimamente. No lo estamos haciendo como nos gustaría, aunque es verdad que ante el Queens Park Rangers el miércoles debimos ganar. Fue uno de esos partidos extraños, en el que el rival se pone 0-2 con un tiro a potería. Lograron un empate increíble. Nosotros merecimos más que el empate y creo que Kenny fue el mejor de los suyos. Nosotros llevamos el peso del partido, tuvimos las oportunidades pero nos faltó algo de acierto.

A nivel personal, estoy contento por volver al once titular tras los partidos de Navidad. Me he sentido muy fuerte, todas las sensaciones fueron buenas y me encontré agusto jugando como central. Ahora espero seguir trabajando duro para que el míster mantenga su confianza en mí. Quiero mantenerme en el equipo y lucharé por ello. Ahora nos llega el Newcastle en Sant James Park y aunque es de los mejores en su estadio, debemos mantener esta buena dinámica a domicilio. En las últimas 12 salidas sólo hemos perdido dos y ése es el camino lejos de Villa Park.

Muchos me habeis preguntado por el mercado invernal, que al final se ha cerrado con alguna novedad y he tenido algún amigo que se ha movido. Yo he estado pendiente, por el frio que hace, de ver mucho fútbol. Especialmente español, con la Copa hemos tenido casi casi a diario, e Italia. Ahora ya ha vuelto la alemana. He visto tanto fútbol que podría dedicarme a ser scouting para algún club o hacer la base de datos de algún videojuego de fútbol. Tengo algún otro hobby que ya conoceís, como mi pasión por los coches. Conducir me sirve para relajarme.

Here I am again writing, after a difficult week, especially after being knocked out of the Cup. It is such a pity to lose to Arsenal when we were two goals ahead at the Emirates, I think the team was well set up on the pitch and the counterattack worked well too. We were in very low spirit in our way back to Birmingham; the positive side was to see Robert Pires, who played with us last year.

But now it is time to get it right at home as lately we are performing much better away than at Villa Park. We are not playing as we would like to play although, and this is true, we should have won QPR last Wednesday. One of those games the rival scores twice with just one shot on target, having Kenny as their best player. We set the pace and had the chances but we had a lack of accuracy facing the goal.

Personally I am very happy to be back in the line up after the Xmas games. I played as a centre back and I felt really well physically. Now it is time to keep on working hard to maintain the coach´s trust. I want to stay in the line up and I will fight for it.

Now we face Newcastle, one of the best teams at home this season, at St James´ Park and we have to keep this good tracking of results and play; in the games. In the last 12 away games we just have lost two so that is the way to follow away from Villa Park.

So many of you have asked for the transfer window that has closed with a late surprise, a couple of friends has moved in this transfer. Because of the cold weather we´re having, I have watched plenty of football, especially the Spanish, with the Cup during the week… nearly a game per day; and also the Italian. And the German is back again… I am thinking to offer myself as a scouting for a club or even making a database for a football´s video game. I have another hobby that you all know the passion for cars. To drive is relaxing for me.
