Raúl García might be key for Atlético in Lisboa

Raúl García and Carlos CuéllarThis week isn’t easy for the supporters of Osasuna. It was a pity their relegation last Sunday. The situation was very complicated as the ‘rojillos’ did not depend on themselves and after beating Betis, something happened that we all wanted to avoid.
I was there to support my ex team from the stands and putting apart what happened on the pitch, I can only thank all the innumerable hugs and affection I received on my visit to Pamplona. I am certain that a crowd like this one, backed by a club with such a history will return soon to La Liga.

With the Liga at an end, we must concentrate on Saturday’s match in Lisboa. The Champions League Final will be historical for Spanish Football and as I’m lucky, I’ll be there to support Raúl García and Juanfran from the stands. As it is most probable that Diego Costa won’t play as he is injured, I hope the ‘Navarro’ can be on the starting eleven among the ‘colchoneros’, as he has earned enough merit for this to happen.

Knowing that a match like this one might be decided after a single detail, I have no doubt that Raúl García will be a very important weapon for Simeone. His scoring capacity as he comes from the second line and his aerial power when attacking or defending will be key for Atlético to end up as Champions.

If I look back, I remember I gave luck to Atlético de Madrid before in Hamburg when they beat Fulham on the Europa League. Now, in Lisbon, and after winning the League title, it will be a good moment for Simeone’s boys to achieve their first Champions League title. I have no doubt that the euphoria earned after winning the League will guide them to win the continental title as well.
