Ha sido un orgullo ser un Black Cat / It’s been a pleasure to be a Black Cat

En esta ocasión toca anunciar el final de una nueva etapa en el mundo del fútbol. El tiempo pasa es momento de echar la vista atrás para dar las gracias por estos dos años en los que he defendido la camiseta del Sunderland. Es cierto que se ha sufrido demasiado en algunos momentos y no hemos podido luchar por cotas mayores, pero hemos conseguido los objetivos principales, seguir un temporada más en Premier League tras ocupar la última plaza de la tabla durante varias jornadas.

Mi momento como Black Cat será recordado con orgullo, destacando los momentos buenos como la clasificación para la final de la Capital One Cup y la salvación en la presente temporada. Los buenos resultados conseguidos ante equipos de la talla de Chelsea o Manchester City quedarán para la historia de este club.

Con el campeonato decidido, no me quiero olvidar de felicitar al Manchester City por su título y desear toda la suerte posible a los descendidos. El fútbol es cruel en ocasiones y para todo futbolista, la sensación de perder la categoría es la peor posible sin ninguna duda.

Os escribo en una de mis paradas del viaje que todos los años me gusta realizar entre Inglaterra y España. Me gusta la sensación de atravesar kilómetros y kilómetros con el coche mientras hago resumen de los sucedido en estos meses pasados y pienso en lo que todavía está por llegar, que seguro que son infinidad de cosas positivas.

Antes de desconectar del fútbol durante unos días para empezar a pensar en el Mundial de Brasil, no me quiero olvidar de mis rojillos. Mi intención es ir a Pamplona para animar como un aficionado más en El Sadar. No será fácil conseguir la salvación debido a que Osasuna no sólo depende de su resultado, pero no tengo ninguna duda de que el estadio presentará una vez más su mejor imagen y se podrá ganar al Betis. Después, tocará esperar a que los resultados acompañen.

No me olvido del choque que decidirá la Liga. Poco más se puede pedir para este tramo final y con la radio, tendremos que estar atentos al Barcelona – Atlético. Ojalá que mis amigos Raúl García y Juanfran puedan celebrar un título de Liga por primera vez, han luchado mucho para llegar a lo más alto y se lo merecen.

Así me despido, sólo me queda agradecer a todos los aficionados del Sunderland el apoyo que me han mostrado en todo momento y a todos mis seguidores en general, que sé que están muy cerca gracias a las redes sociales y a los ánimos que percibo.

Cuellar, durante un partido con el Sunderland

In this occasion it is time to say goodbye to a period in the world of football. Time goes by, I now have to look back and thank everybody for these two years in which I have defended Sunderland’s shirt. It is true that we have suffered and we haven’t been able to fight for bigger challenges, but we have achieved our main aim, we will keep on playing in the Premier League after being on the last position for several game weeks.

My moment as a Black Cat will be remembered with pride, I’ll highlight the good moments like when we qualified for the Capital One Cup Final and when we avoided relegation this very season. The good results achieved against powerful teams like Chelsea or Man City will pass into the history of this club.
As the Premier League ends, I can’t forget to congratulate Manchester City for their title and I’d also like to wish good luck to the teams that were relegated to the First Division. Football can be cruel in certain moments and for every single player, the feeling of losing category is one of the worst.

I write to you from a special place between England and Spain, a place in which I always like to stop to look back and think about all the good and bad moments. I like driving for miles and miles with my car and summarize what happened in all these months, apart from imagining what can happen from now on, I’m sure plenty of good things are about to come.

Before disconnecting from all football thoughts and start to think again about Brazil 2014, I wouldn’t like to forget about my ‘Rojillos’. My intention is to go to Pamplona and support the team at El Sadar. It won’t be easy to avoid relegation as the little red men don’t depend on themselves, but there is no doubt the stadium and fans will be there doing their duty, helping the team to beat Betis. After that, we must hope for the best results.

I won’t forget about the tie that will decide La Liga. Little more can we ask for this league ending and thanks to the radio I’ll be listening to the Barcelona-Atlético. I wish my friends Raúl García and Juanfran can celebrate the league title for their first time, they’ve fought a lot to reach the highest peak and they deserve it.

Now I say goodbye, I can only thank every Sunderland fan for all the help and cheering up I’ve received in every single moment and thanks again to all my supporters in general, because I know the are there thanks to social networks.
