Quince días pensando en jugar el derbi / Two weeks awaiting the derby

Por fin volvemos a jugar tras el parón por los partidos de las selecciones. Han sido 15 días donde se te hace duro el no poder disputar encuentros y donde tienes mono de que empiece ya la competición. Pero ya estamos todos juntos y con ganas de medirnos al Newcastle en casa.

El derbi por excelencia que esperamos todos. Es el partido del año y nos encontramos muy metidos, con las pilas muy cargadas y motivados ante un gran conjunto que está haciendo bien las cosas, pero el Sunderland se lo va a poner muy difícil. Hay que ganar como sea, ya que nos daría también mucha moral.

Tras caer con el City, borramos ese partido para pensar en nuestro derbi. Y es que la gente está motivada y los aficionados también. Me paran por la calle muchos aficionados para decirme que hay que sumar los tres puntos. Que este es el partido que están esperando y en el que hay que darlo todo. La verdad es que a mí los encuentros de máxima rivalidad me motivan bastante. Han sido muchos los que he vivido y los he disfrutado al máximo. Ya desde mi etapa en Osasuna rivales como Athletic o Real Sociedad te daban un plus más para afrontar esos partidos. Pero fue en Escocia cuando militando en el Glasgow Rangers te tenías que medir al Celtic y notabas que eso era lo máximo. En el Aston villa ante el Birmingham volví a sentir lo mismo, ese mismo grado de motivación y ahora en el Sunderland pasa igual, sino más, porque ves a la gente hablándote del partido a todas horas. Tengo ganas de que llegue ya. Han venido varios amigos y mi representante a vernos y esperamos no defraudar a nadie, porque los Gatos Negros vamos a salir a por todas y seguros de hacer un gran resultado para seguir en la buena línea de toda la temporada, salvo el último tropezón. Así que espero que lo disfrutéis.

With the end of the international break, it´s been 15 days with no football at all not a single game and you start to get mad about play football; we are back in the competition. We all are back together and looking forward to face Newcastle at home. It is “THE DERBY”, the game of the year, we are focus on the game and very motivated to play against a team who´s doing well but Sunderland will make it difficult for them. We have to win at all costs, a win would boost our morale after losing to Man City, and just let me put it behind and focus in the derby ahead. Everyone is quite exciting; many people stop me to wish the team good luck and hoping we get the three points. It´s the game they have been waiting for and we have to give it all for them. Truth be told, these kind of game motivates me a lot. There has been a few I have played and enjoyed. Back in the day with Osasuna we played Athletic and Real Sociedad. But was playing for Rangers where I felt the game was above everything else. At Villa against Birmingham, was very special too, I felt that motivation again and now at Sunderland I feel the same, even more when people talks about it all time long. I can´t wait. There are a few friends and my agent around and I hope not to disappoint them, because the Black Cats are going for it and we would try to get a win to keep the good run, but the last game, in the league.
