Encantado en Sunderland / Delighted at Sunderland

Hello everyone, after a few months, I think is time for a brief recap of my career with the Black cats. And I just can say I am delighted; at the beginning takes a little time to get used to your new life, but all these years in Great Britain have made it easier. The team is doing well and we are happy with the results, although a sportsman always wants more.

The other day, when we played the derby, I lived my very first crucial moment at the club and I enjoyed every minute of the game, the stand were superb supporting us. You notice how important the game is on the streets but when you are on the pitch… nothing compares to… It was decisive for Newcastle to be one man down so early, they were well position at the back we could not overcome the result; the point did not have much taste to be honest but I am looking forward to the second leg.

Meanwhile, we will work hard in the Premier, and who knows, maybe we cause a stir in the Cup where you can do important things. There is enough excitement in the team. I would like you to use this forum, where I usually write once a week, to recommend me things to do and places to go in Sunderland and around the area.

While I’m getting to know the area day by day, it would be very helpful your opinion about bars, restaurants, music to listen to, movies… By the way I went the other day to the cinema to see Paranormal Activity 4 and it was boring to death. I did not like it despite I enjoy terror films, so if you know any good movie I am open to suggestions.

And of course I met up with Jade Hazard, the winner of the Sunderland shirt. I had fun and we had a long chat. A very nice and charming girl who brought me two muffin boxes, they were delicious! As the open person I am, I like to know other people´s interests, so I am organizing a new raffle.

I will keep you up to date. I cannot think of anything else to tell. I insist feel free to propose new contests or whatever you come up with. Just ask and I will try to answer as soon as possible. Take care!

Hi Carlos. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about playing for Sunderland and the changes in your life over the last few months. My wife and I are both Sunderland AFC supporters and are very pleased that you signed for the club. We are impressed with the way you have integrated so easily with the team and your performances have been very good. The match with Newcastle at the SOL is always the biggest game of the season and to be fair, we did very well to get a draw. Newcastle are a great club and they played very well even with 10 men. I know that it will take time to get the reults we all want. My wife and I live in Ashbrooke. and our favourite pubs/restaurants are the Rosedene and the Barnes which are walking distance from our house. Very best regards Keith

Carlos, firstly i would like to say how much we appreciate a player who still has time for the fans, something that is lacking in todays game. Being a Sunderland fan living on the other side of the water. Get yourself across to tynemouth where there is some nice pubs and places to eat as well as some nice beaches and some great history with the priory castle. There is also the North Shields fish Quay which is a great area with one particular bar called the tap quay house which does nice tapas food and great hospitality. My 7 year old son loves it in there hopefully we see you over this way

  7. Welcome to the North East Carlos, if you have a free day try and pay a visit to Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island in Northumberland. Good luck for the rest of the season!
