Tengo muchas ganas de fútbol/Can’t wait to play Football

Hace unos días me hacía especial ilusión celebrar mi 31 cumpleaños ante mi nueva afición, la del Sunderland, pero el partido no pudo disputarse por culpa del tiempo. Bueno, pensé que poco después iba poder hacer mi debut ante mi afición en la Copa de la Liga, pero no jugué y tampoco pudo ser.

Lo cierto es que me encuentro bien y con muchísimas ganas de jugar. Me apetece bastante volver a competir. Eso sí, aunque no pude jugar en la Copa de la Liga, estoy orgulloso de mis compañeros, que lo hicieron realmente bien y tengo sensaciones muy buenas de cara a esta temporada.

Ahora ante el Swansea espero estar en el once. Significará un partido muy especial y que me recordará a los de la Liga española. Allí están cuatro españoles (Rangel, Orlandi, Chico y Michu) dirigidos por Michael Laudrup y que están sorprendiendo en este arranque liguero.

Sé que será un partido difícil, porque ellos se han convertido en la revelación del campeonato con su pleno de victorias con goleadas y con Michu de máximo goleador. Espero frenarle y ayudar a demostrar que el Sunderland también tiene cosas que decir este año.

Hay mimbres para hacer cosas importantes y poder ser nosotros también una de las revelaciones de la Liga. Tengo muy claro que el objetivo es quedar entre los 10 primeros, pero hay potencial y una gran ilusión que me hacen ser optimista de dar alegrías a un club y a una afición a la que tengo muchas ganas de conocer, pero que sé que tendrá que esperar.

Además, me gustaría dar la bienvenida a las nuevas incorporaciones. Con la llegada de Saha, Fletcher y Johnson creo que nos hemos acabado por reforzar de una forma magnífica. Van a ver como no se han equivocado con su elección de venir al Sunderland. Yo llevo poco tiempo aquí, pero mis sensaciones son como si llevará muchos años por el calido recibimiento que he recibido y que me han hecho sentir uno más desde el primer momento.

I would have liked to celebrate my birthday playing at home, in front of the Sunderland supporters but the game was called off because of the rain and then I thought, well I will debut at home in the Capital One Cup game but I did not play so it could not be either. I’m in a good condition and I’m looking forward to play again I love the competition. Despite I did not play I am very proud of my teammates they played really well.

I hope to be in the line up for the Swansea game. It will be very special, like back in the day when I was playing in Spain, as there are four Spanish players (Rangel, Orlandi, Chico y Michu) playing at Swansea under Laudrup orders. They are having an impressive start of the season. It will be a difficult game as they are full of confidence and Michu as top scorer. I hope to hold him tight and stop him and prove Sunderland has also something to say this season. We could be one of the revelation teams this year. There’s a solid base in the team and we can also do important things. Our aim is to finish in the top ten clubs. We have the potential so I’m optimistic we can do it for the fans and the club.

I would also like to welcome the new signings, Saha, Fletcher and Johnson, I think they strengthen the team. They will realize they made the right choice coming to Sunderland. I’m new to the team too but feels like I have been here for ages, everyone treats me as one of them since the beginning.
