Empiezo mi tercer año villano… como modelo / My third Villan year starts… as a model

Ya estamos trabajando otra temporada desde hace unos días. La tercera mía en Birmingham. ¡Cómo pasa de rápido el tiempo!Muchas veces hago bromas sobre lo duro que es volver tras las vacaciones, pero debo decir que esta vez se me hizo un poco menos. La vuelta coincidió con España jugando las semifinales de un Mundial y luego la final. Fue increíble. Ahora soy del país campeón del mundo. Un lujazo.

Estos primeros días de pretemporada siempre son cansados, por mucho que hayas salido a correr en las vacaciones. Aunque en Inglaterra no hacemos dobles sesiones, se hace un trabajo también intenso para poder responder en una campaña tan competitiva. Son más largas y algunas tardes he estado cansado.

Lo bueno es que siempre tenemos mucho balón de por medio en las sesiones. Eso es muy agradable. Además, ya empezamos a jugar partidos y viene lo bueno: medirte contra equipos de otros paises (Feyernoord o Benfica). No vamos muy lejos: ahora en Dublin y luego unos días Portugal. Además, en verano jugaremos un partido emotivo en casa con el Valencia el día 6 de agosto. Será la prueba clave porque aún no se ha terminado de confirmar el equipo. Estamos pendientes de que vuelvan los que jugaron el Mundial y también de que lleguen incorporaciones. No sé si habrá más salidas, porque se habla de varias en la prensa…

Lo que si hemos estrenado han sido las camisetas nuevas, con una segunda negra que ya me han pedido. Me encantó el acto. Lo pasamos muy bien y debí estar más que correcto como modelo porque me tocó salir con la primera y también con la segunda. Ya he estrenado la primera, la clásica. Fue en el primero, que jugué de central y el segundo amistoso no lo disputé por unas molestias.

Dentro de nada empezamos ya con los oficiales, ya que en Inglaterra se hace un par de semanas antes que España. El día 14 de agosto jugamos contra el West Ham en Villa Park y luego visitamos al Newcastle. Nuestro partido de la tercera jornada ante el Everton se habrá jugado sin que haya empezado la Liga en España..

Espero para ese día haber sumado mi partido 100 como villano, ya que por ahora llevo 99 en estos dos años. A ver si es con tiunfo…

We started to work another season a few days ago, my third season in Birmingham. The time flew by so quickly!! Sometimes I make jokes about how hard is the comeback after holidays but I must say this time has been a little bit less. It coincided with Spain playing the semifinals and then the final. It was incredible. Now I am from the world champion country. What a luxury!!

These first days a very tiring, even when you have running during the holidays. Although in England there is just one session, we work out hard and intensively to get ready for a competitive season, the session are longer and some evenings I have been tired.

The good thing is we use the ball during the sessions. Besides we are starting to play matches against teams from other countries (Benfica and Feyernoord). That’s nice!! We are not far from home, right now in Dublin and then a few days in Portugal. Also we will play an emotive friendly against Valencia on the 6th of August. That will be a serious test because the team is not decided yet. We are waiting for the ones who played the World Cup and also new players joining the club. I don’t know if anybody else is leaving, there are a few gossips on the press.

What we have rolled out is the new outfit, with a second kit in black that someone has already order to me. I loved the presentation, we enjoyed and I think I was more than correct because I came on the stage twice, one with the first kit and then the second kit. I have played with the first kit already, was in the first friendly and I played as a centre-back. I couldn’t play the second friendly due to some slight pain.

We will start playing official games very soon as in England the premier starts a couple weeks before than La Liga. On the 14th August we play vs. West Ham at home and then going to Newcastle. The third game is against Everton will be play before the start of the league in Spain.

I hope about that date make my 100th appearance as a Villan because I am on 99 thanks to these two years. Let’s see if it’s with a victory.
