“I’d love to go to San Mamés and watch the match with the Rangers fans,” says Carlos Cuéllar, a club legend who is still sung about in the stands 17 years after leaving.

Carlos Cuéllar (Madrid, 44) only spent one season at Rangers, the 2007–08 campaign, after arriving from Osasuna. But that year left such a mark on him that he travelled to Seville for the 2021–22 UEFA Europa League final, where Rangers lost on penalties to Eintracht Frankfurt.
