Carlos Cuéllar starts 2019 with the same eagerness with which he starts every year. His age isn't an obstacle for him to remain offering a great performance. As a proof, Sport5 (a media company from Israel) added him to the best 11 of the first part of the Premier League. In this competition he reached (in last October) an extraordinary number: 500 games as a pro.

This Sport5 recognition is better understood if you take a look at his numbers with Bnei Yehuda. Since he came to the team from Tel Aviv, he has been on the starting eleven in all the games he has been available (12). He has also played 90 minutes in 9 out of 12 matches played. Those 12 games ended in 6 wins, three draws and three defeats.

After leaving a great impression at Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona (he reached the Israel Cup's semifinal and he wore the captain armband on 7 occasions) and playing the previous stage of the Europa League with Beitar Jerusalem, the centreback from Madrid signed for Bnei Yehuda (sixth in the table on the last league) in September. His impact on the defensive performance was crucial since the beginning. In the twelve matches played by Cuéllar, Yehuda conceded only 8 goals and has made 6 clean sheets. Bnei are second in the table now and only the leaders, powerful Maccabi Tel Aviv, have a better scoring rate than them.
