Carlos Cuéllar's Maccabi Petah Tikva continues its fantastic season as they beat away Hapoel Kfar Saba (1-3) and secured the third place in the table before the playoffs (just one week left of competition). Both Hapoel Be'er Sheva and Maccabi Tel Aviv are the favourites to win the title but Maccabi Petah Tikva doesn't give up anything, backed by its superb form.
This time, Kobi Refua's team had to fight back as the local team took the lead after a penalty with just two minute gone, but Maccabi solved the problems with personality and good football. In less than ten minutes (from 22th to 29th) a double from Melamed and another one from Kanuk overcame the result making the final 1-3.
Carlos, in the line-up once more, will miss the final day of the regular season against Ashdod due to suspension. So the centre-back will have time to rest to be ready for the playoffs.
