Malos regalos de Santa Claus, el dulce 2011 y buenos Reyes Magos / Poor Father Christmas presents, a kind 2011 and The Three Wise Men

He intentado aprovechar al máximo su presencia estos días, pero los 3 partidos de esta semana no me han permitido mucho margen. Os aviso que no se ha portado bien conmigo Papa Noel, como decimos en España, o Santa Claus que dicen aquí. Nos han traído dos derrotas (Tottenham y City) para acabar ese 2010, que empezó bien para el Aston Villa con aquella final en Wembley…

Espero que los Reyes Magos, yo siempre he tenido la suerte con ellos en España, nos traigan una victoria ante el Sunderland.
Aquí, claro, la gente no escribe la carta a los Magos de Oriente y tampoco celebra la fiesta de los Santos Inocentes el 28 de diciembre. Nada, que me quedé sin hacer una broma pesada a nadie ni tampoco pegué esos muñequitos blancos en la espalda.

Para inocentada la que me han hecho a mí la familia. Se acercaron a la fábrica de chocolate de Cadbury el otro día y parece, por el cargamento que trajeron, que los regalaban. Ahora vivo en medio de la tentación: entre esos dulces, los turrones y mazapanes.
Por el momento no los he catado, pero habrá que hacerlo para comenzar bien el año antes de que marche a Londres para jugar con el Chelsea. Al final menos mal que se cambió al domingo día 2. En caso contrario me hubiese tenido que comer las uvas sólo en un hotel de las afueras de Londres.

Por cierto, que yo celebré dos veces la entrada en el 2011. Una a la vez que la gente de España, comiendo las uvas a las doce de allí mientras veo las imágenes por internet, y otra luego una hora después cuando sean las 0.00 de aquí (CET). No hay tradición en el Reino Unido de comer una uva por cada campanada y mes del año, por lo que sólo brindé. Lo hice por todos vosotros y vuestro apoyo que nota este villano cada dia. Espero que tengais salud, paz y amor en este año nuevo. Que nos vaya bien a todos. Lo merecemos. Feliz 2011! Happy New Year!

I have been really busy this Christmas with games, trainings and trips and it has not let me spend more time with my family, difficult having three games in a week though. Santa Claus or Papa Noel, the Spanish father Christmas, hasn´t been good to me this year, two games lost to end 2010 that started well for Villa with the final at Wembley…

I hope the three wise men bring us a victory against Sunderland as a present; they have been good to me always. Here in England the people obviously don´t write the letter to the three wise men or celebrate the Feast of the Holy Innocents, so I couldn´t make any practical joke (inocentada) on anyone or hang paper dolls on someone else´s back. This year is my family the one that made me an inocentada. They visited the Cadbury Factory and for what they brought with them seemed that it was free. Now I live with the temptation of all those chocolates and sweets. I haven´t tried them yet though but I will before go to London to play Chelsea. It was finally move to Sunday the 2nd otherwise I would have eaten the grapes at the hotel in London.

By the way I will celebrate the New Year twice, one with the Spanish people through internet and another one an hour later with the people over here. There´s no tradition here of eating grapes when the clock strokes 12 (one grape for each stroke) so I´ll just drink a toast and I´ll do it for all of you and for you support. I wish you peace and health and love for this New Year and that everything goes well for us all. We deserve it. Feliz 2011!!
